I was skeptical about getting that shading effect in a single pass, but this really does deliver both the bright base and the darker recesses without any extra work. The consistency is perfect for slapping it on and moving to the next miniature.

One coat of this over a white undercoat and the shading just appears on its own—the recesses darken while the raised areas stay bright. Took me maybe five minutes to base an entire squad of models, which used to take me an hour with layering.
