Citadel Layer: Deathclaw Brown

The coverage is fantastic—one thin coat over a brown base and the color pops beautifully. It dries with a smooth, even finish that makes layering for highlights effortless. This is exactly what I needed for painting fur details on my minis.

The layer consistency thins out nicely without separating, so blending over the base coat is easy enough. It just took three coats to get the brown to look solid on my model, which felt like more work than I expected for the price. Fine if you’ve got the patience, but it’s not a one-and-done paint.
